Research Activities
Our motto "There's more to be seen than can ever be seen - More to do than can ever be done" (from circle of life, Elton John)
We are working on the following themes currently:

-
Interface Controlled Quantum Materials
-
Interfacial superconductivity in oxide heterostructure
-
Oxide electronics
-
Spin-orbit coupling and electron correlation driven novel quantum phases of matter
-
High entropy oxides

-
High Entropy Oxides
High entropy oxides (HEOs) are a class of materials containing equimolar portions of five or more transition metal and/or rare-earth elements and have a single-phase crystal structure. Transition metal-based HEOs are being explored in recent years to achieve tunable properties in unexplored parts of the complex phase diagram. However, the thin-film growth of such multi-component systems in a layer-by-layer way is extremely challenging. We have been able to grow single crystalline thin films of one such system [(La0.2Pr0.2Nd0.2Sm0.2Eu0.2)NiO3]. We are exploring structure-property relationship of this new class of materials.
